DIY Children’s Sharpie Art Ornaments – turn your child’s beautiful artwork into a simple keepsake ornament.
Last week we showed you our Simple Rustic Memory Tree and I’m excited to share the details of the DIY ornaments we created over the next two weeks. First up, these special DIY Sharpie Art ornaments featuring your child’s artwork!
I absolutely love my kids artwork and finding ways to incorporate it into our home and holiday decor is a priority for me. The kids had fun making these handmade ornaments and love seeing their creations hanging on the Christmas tree! These ornmanents will be a special keepsake in years to come and they couldn’t be simpler to make.
Supplies you’ll need
*All supplies available at Michaels
Black Fine Point Sharpies
White Shatter-proof ball ornaments (matte finish)
Twine or ornament hooks
Instructions
Make sure your child is wearing an art apron or old clothing because you are using permanent marker.
Give child an ornament and a fine point sharpie. Have them draw a picture directly on the ornament.
When they’re finished, write their name and date on the back side of the ornament.
Tie twine in a loop or use an ornament hook for hanging. Let child place their new creation on the tree.
These ornaments were so fun for the kids and you really can’t get much simpler than drawing on white bulb ornaments with sharpies. The result isn’t fancy, but they’re so personal and precious! I love my kids artwork and I smile every time I see these hanging on the tree.
