Last week I saw stores with Christmas villages already set up and ready to go. Anyone else love seeing these tiny scenes on display? There's something magical about seeing things in the miniature. Today I'm sharing a fun Christmas Craft that you can do with the kids this holiday season. Make your very own Paper Chain Christmas villages!
Ever since we made Halloween Paper Chains and People Paper Chains I've been itching to try out a Christmas version.
(There are tons of gorgeous 3D Paper Christmas Village kits online. But this is such a nice simple art idea for kids of all ages.)
Let's Make a Christmas Paper Chain Village
1. Thicker paper stands up better. So grab some construction paper, drawing paper, watercolor paper, or cardstock. Cut the paper in half so you have two long strips. Then, fold the strips of paper in half a couple of times till you end up with your desired width.
2. Get inspired by the Christmas spirit and cut out shapes like Christmas trees, houses, or cars. (Be sure to leave the side portions connected.)
3. Paint and doodle your designs on.
(I added on tiny Christmas trees to my car chains.)
4. Once you're done, accordion fold your chains.
Now you have your very own miniature Christmas village. These are perfect giving your mantle or kids room a personalized touch.
Happy making, friends!
