We can’t believe it’s actually the new year as it seems 2015 just flew by. But what a treat it’s been to look through all of our DIY projects from this past year. We’ve gathered up our favorite DIYs we created in 2015. It’s a pretty amazing exercise to go through when setting exciting new goals for 2016. We’ve got big plans for Alice & Lois… so stay tuned!
This by far was our most popular DIY project this year. We love that, especially because it’s so utilitarian, and not to mention, pretty simple to make!
Another one of the top reader-favorite and our favorite too were the Marbled Indigo Eggs. We feel in love with these eggs because of the deep indigo color that you know we are obsessed with, along with the marbled effect. These eggs turned out so stunning. And you can’t go wrong with indigo and white, right?
3. DIY Leather Envelope Clutch
These little DIY leather envelope clutches really turned out to be so gorgeous. Sara paired beautiful leather with bold fabric for the inside. These truly make the best DIY gifts for birthdays, the holidays or Mother’s Day. We love when we create projects that we end up using every day, too!
4. DIY Stamped Watermelon Wrapping Paper
This was one of our biggest DIY hits of the summer and we love it since it’s a great project to do with the kiddos. Simple DIY stamps turn plain white paper into custom watermelon wrapping paper. The girls loved making this and we loved wrapping gifts with it.
5. DIY Indigo Dip Dyed Dish Towels
These indigo dip dyed dish towels have made the best gifts this year. We love the simplicity of them and of course the combo of indigo and white! But you could create these with any color dye, too. These looks so lovely in a kitchen and are also a great to wrap gifts with.
6. DIY Wood and Copper Necklace
We can’t stop wearing our Wood and Cooper Necklaces we made for this DIY project. The best part about this necklace tutorial is that the supplies are so simple – wood beads from the craft store and copper coupling from the hardware store.
This DIY Reupholstered Stool was such a fun project because we used our friend Audrey’s (from This Little Street) brand new fabric. Her playful and gorgeous fabric gave new life to an old stool.
8. Ice Cream Cone Wrapper Printable
One of our favorite parts of blogging is doing contributor work for Minted beautiful blog, Julep, multiple times each month. This summer, we created these hand-drawn Ice Cream Cone Wrapper Free Printable for Minted. They are perfect for a summertime bash and we loved how the black and white patterns turned out.
9. DIY Decoupage Floral Pumpkins
Moving onto Halloween, this was our favorite pumpkin DIY we created this year. The floral decoupage pumpkins turned out so pretty and natural and made the perfect centerpiece.
10. DIY Thanksgiving Grateful Postcards
The thing we loved most about this project was that it started a new family tradition for us and for many of our readers. We designed a printable “Grateful” postcard to mail to friends and family during Thanksgiving to let them know how grateful you are for them. This turned out to be such a creative way to express gratitude.
