Giant Paper Flower Party Hats

I love a good party hat and these giant flower hats are so fun. They are simple to make and you can get all the supplies to make them in the party shop. See all the details below!

Materials: Crepe paper, cardstock, party hat template, scissors, elastic, glue, x-acto knife, floral wire

Step 1: Cut out 2 pieces of crepe paper. Crumple one of the crepe paper pieces into a ball. Then cover it with the second piece of paper. Twist the bottom so that it forms a large stamen. Circle the top of the stamen with wire so it holds the crumpled paper in place.

Step 2: Cut out 10 or more large petal shapes out of crepe paper.

Step 3: Gently use your thumbs to pull and shape the crepe paper.

Step 4: Begin place the petals around the ball base of the flower. Once you’re satisfied with the look of the flower, wrap a piece of wire around the petals to secure them in place.

Step 5: Use this party hat template to make your hat, then use an x-acto knife to cut out an “x” in the hat.

Step 6: Slip the base of through the x in the hat.

Step 7: Glue the base of the flower in place on the inside of the hat.

Step 8: Party!
