Update Your Beach Cooler With Only 2 Materials!

Update Your Beach Cooler With Only 2 Materials!

We showed you how to disguise your cooler on your patio with a stand-up cooler box, so now let’s talk about how to spruce up your cooler for those days at the beach. This DIY is actually a breeze. All you need is two supplies — origami paper and dishwasher-safe Mod Podge. Once you’re done, fill your cooler with sparkling water, beers or pre-made bottled cocktails and head to the beach!

Materials + Tools:

— cooler

— origami paper

— dishwasher-safe Mod Podge

— spray adhesive

— foam brush

— scissors

Instructions:

1. Cut out various types of palm leaves from different colored origami paper.

2. Spray the surface of the cooler with spray adhesive, then press the leaves in place.

3. Cover the cooler with two coats of Mod Podge. Let dry in between coats.

We found a couple types of palm leaves that we liked on the internet and printed them out to use as templates. Place your origami paper underneath and follow the lines of the printed leaf.

Cut out different styles of leaves to make your tropical cooler feel like a jungle.

Spray your cooler with a layer of spray adhesive and then stick your leaves in place.

Cover with a layer of dishwasher-safe Mod Podge. Once it’s dry, add another coat to really seal those leaves onto the container.

Trim away leaves so they are flush with the top and bottom edges of the cooler, and then you’re ready to head to the beach!

We kept with the tropical theme and brought along one of our favorite beach blankets made from a drop cloth.

How to pack a cooler 101: waters, pre-made cocktails, grapes, salsa and chips. That’s all you’ll need :)

After splashing around in the waves throw on your beach cover up for some extra warmth.

This photo is actually a still from my upcoming Rom-Com where I find out the cute but sensitive tech millionaire is actually a pro surfer. Spoiler alert! He also has a Bernese mountain dog that likes to play in the waves :) Sadly, this film has lost funding, so if anyone out there could help a girl out, that would be greatly appreciated.
