These Disney Cinderella Movie Party Ideas are a part of a sponsored post.
My girls and I have been waiting for the new Disney Cinderella movie to come out on Blu-ray and that day is finally upon us! Cinderella is now available on Blu-ray™, Digital HD & Disney Movies anywhere! We love everything about the movie and especially the messages portrayed throughout it. Cinderella is told from the beginning of the movie to have courage and be kind. This message really resonated with us and so I told the girls that we should have a fun Cinderella themed viewing party at our house and watch the movie together now that it has come out. I have already started planning the party for this weekend. I wanted to make the decorations simple and useable after the party and even the Cinderella favor jars are reusable once the snack mix is gone! I know that this Cinderella viewing party will be something memorable for all of us. I always want to encourage my girls in life and I will be using this party to motivate them to be just like Cinderella… courageous and kind!
I know that the Cinderella favor jars & snack mix will be a favorite treat of the night. What I like about these jars is that they can be used as storage later on once they are empty and cleaned out! My girls are already making plans to put their hair bows in them.
For the snack mix I used several dry foods I thought would go together and keep with the Cinderella theme.
What you will need for the snack mix:
2 cups rice cereal
1 cup cashews for “moons”
1 cup star shaped marshmallows
1 cup candy pumpkins (easy to find in the Fall)
1 cup butterfly pretzels (can sub regular pretzels too)
1 cup blue candies in different shades of blue
50 candy clocks (tutorial below)
makes 12 servings and will fill 6 of the 16 oz. jars
The candy clocks are just vanilla candy wafers that I made into tiny clocks using a small tip food marker. I made sure to make the hands on the clock point to 5 minutes until midnight which is a fun way to bring in the Cinderella theme to this snack mix. 50 clocks were used in the snack mix recipe.
What you will need for the Favor Jars:
6 16 oz. wide mouth mason jars
6 plastic widemouth lids
blue glitter spray paint
6 button sized butterflies
gold paint
rose gold glitter
6 small clear plastic slippers
6 small strips of iridescent cellophane gift wrap
clear super glue
decoupage glue
paint brush
The favor jars were made with simple mason jars that are fitted with the plastic mason jar lids that I painted with a blue glitter spray paint. I then used a small plastic slipper party favor to put on top of the jar that I found at my local craft supply store. To make the slipper more like the one used in the movie I took some iridescent cellophane gift wrap and decoupaged a small strip of it inside the shoe.
I found small wooden butterfly buttons and painted them gold for the top of the shoe. I also took the decoupage glue and painted a thin coat of it on top and put rose gold glitter on top of that. Once it was finished drying I used the super glue to affix the butterfly on top of the slipper.
For the last step I used the super glue to place the slipper on top of the painted plastic lid. Once it’s all dry you can put the snack mix inside and secure the lid to the jar.
The snack mix can be eaten anytime during the party, but it’s especially fun to use as a movie snack. Once the movie starts playing I will tell my girls that they can eat the butterflies, pumpkins and clocks as soon as they see them in the movie. I think it will be a fun game!
